DONE - Florida Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness Course

The Florida first-time Drivers Education course helps students to develop safe driving skills, provides students with the required Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) waiver, and prepares students for the Learner’s License exam.

Completing Florida driver's ed course alone does not get you a learner's permit. It only exempts you from take the drug and alcohol course (Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education course). You have to take the written exam (road signs and road rules test) to get the permit.

Steps for getting your Permit

1. Complete this Driver Education course: which counts as the 4-hour Drug and Alcohol course/test.
2. Print your Drug and Alcohol Certificate/Receipt: Once you pass the exam, receive a Drug and Alcohol Certificate required to obtain learner’s permit.
3. Take the Road Rules Test and Road Signs Test: (This is IN ADDITION to the Driver’s Ed course.) You may take the tests in person at the local DMV office or online(if you are under 18).
4. Go to your local DMV: With all the list of documents (also Drug and Alcohol Certificate/Receipt), you will need.

Students who pass the exam, the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) will automatically be notified and can then visit the DHSMV office to complete the licensing process. Satisfy the state graduation requirement of completing an online course. Become a better, safer driver!

Finding out that I had to take a drug alcohol traffic awareness class before getting my permit did not make me the happiest person in the world, to say the least. However, my mood quickly changed when I found out that I would n’t be sitting in a boring classroom to take it.

My parents actually found a drug alcohol traffic awareness course that is done entirely online, which was surprising because that’s not something they would normally go for, but I was n’t arguing.

Loved everything about this drug alcohol traffic awareness class and that’s why I’m recommending it. It works really well if you have a busy schedule because you can work on it anytime you want.
